I believe so, there is nothing platform-specific in their ARM support.

I tried it (not for PXA, but for an OMAP board), it works fine here.
Note that I don't cross-compile though, I compile "natively" using
scratchbox.
What is created in <some_dir> once you run "make DESTDIR=<some_dir> install" ?
