added to the manual:
@example
\transpose @var{from} @var{to} @var{musicexpr}
@end example
This means that @var{musicexpr} is transposed by the interval
between the pitches @var{from} and @var{to}.
Since @var{from} and @var{to} are pitches, @code{\transpose} must be
inside a @code{\notes} section.
i.e. enclose the entire thing in \notes\transpose from to
