Doug,
There is certainly something wrong, and it's not your fault, because the
.pdf's on mutopiaproject show inconsistent accidentals between score and parts.
(As you say, Vln 1 has A flat in measure 8 but the score shows A natural.)
So it is very good that you are updating and trying to repair this score.
Gradually reducing the score to something simpler should be a good way to
find the cause of the problem. Good luck.
