Hi,
I am trying to have standard notation + guitar tab where the tab only contains
(fret) numbers. No stems, no bars, no rests, no dots, no circles, nothing.

Do I have to set something somewhere (that the mentioned snippets don't
contain)?
Or were the tab stems removed by default after version 2.12.3 (the version I'm
using)?
Yes. The default behavior was changed somewhere in 2.13.x, and I strongly
recommend to use the latest stable version (2.16). Tablature support has
been
improved quite a bit since 2.12, so your work will probably benefit a
lot from
updating ...
What I've tried is:
\override Stem #'transparent = ##t
Yeah, it was a bit more cumbersome to convince LilyPond to show numbers
only, but it works now ;-)
