Hello Sebastien

THanks for the reply.

Where does this code go?  Are you adding it to a header or attaching it to a note?

thanks!

Hello,

How about something like this ?

\textMark \markup {
    \column {
      \line {\circle "6" "= D"}
      \line {\circle "5" "= G"}
    }
}

With some tweaking for the placement you should be able to get what you wish

Hi Lilypond

What are my options for indicating scordatura such as the png image at the bottom of this email?:

In the past, I have replaced the "instrument name" text with \\markup { \bold\circle "6" "= D"} which works fine for one line, and places the text to the left of the staff.  But I can't add a second line (using \column or \line) no matter what i do.   I want the 5 = G below the 6 = D wherever this is placed on the document.

I also tried this by adding it to the "poet" header on the top left of the page, but again, I can't manage to add 2 lines to this header.

I can duplicate this example by attaching the "6 =D 5=G" to the first note of the piece using _\markup etc.,  and then tweaking the horizontal and vertical placement, but this is cumbersome.

Are there any better alternatives I should try?

I don't really care where the "6=D, 5=G" goes, as long as it is at the beginning of the score somewhere.  Above, beside, or below is just fine with me.

Thanks!

Dirck
