Hello Jason.
As far as I know, Linphone can't currently tell the difference
between the call id and the extension number.
We are only displaying the "display name", or the username if the display name is absent.
We do not plan to change this behavior, but you can send us a development request if you want Linphone to be able to display the caller ID.
To do this please contact us via our commercial form.

Hi Everyone,
Sorry for the question if it's been answered once before but I can't seem to find the answer.
I am trying out Linphone as a windows client. It is connected to an Asterisk PBX. Everything seems to be working well except I can't get the caller id to work.
When someone calls into the PBX and the call is forwarded to the extension handled by Linphone, no caller ID of the calling party is shown. What is actually shown is the extension number of the user extension itself.
If I take the same authentication information and it is used on other software based phone solution or hard desk phone, the callerID is working.
I'm using the PJSIP of asterisk.
Can someone point me in the proper direction to make the callerID of the calling party show up?
Thanks,
Jason
