Concerning your sound problem, the first thing you have to check is: are you able to record some sound with your microphone using some tape-recorder program, like gnome-record, or some command line tools like rec ?

Yes, audio in and out works fine with simple 'rec' command, and with other
soft phones I've been trying to use: Gnophone, iaxcomm, Gnomemeeting, etc.
I believe all of those soft phones use full duplex.

I noticed that mediastreamer/osscard.c had an #ifdef for HAVE_SYS_SOUNDCARD_H,
configure finds that I have sys/soundcard.h, but the Makefile for mediastreamer doesn't include that symbol. (Speex uses that symbol in it's
Makefile). I'm not sure if that is significant. I'll force mediastreamer
to use HAVE_SYS_SOUNDCARD_H, and recompile to see if it makes a difference.
There 's no problem here.

HAVE_SYS_SOUNDCARD_H is defined in ../config.h

The problem is certainly that your driver does not like non-blocking mode (the mode used by linphone, but not by other softphones.).
Upgrading to alsa drivers will solve the problem.
Simon

Tom
