So, you want to say that official PPA is dead? Very sad.

And when it will be? In next versions of Ubuntu?

Packaging policy for most software in Debian/Ubuntu repositories does not
provide
major version updates. So, now I use Ubuntu 12.04 - and Linphone version in
12.04 is 3.3.2.
I am not going to upgrade to another Ubuntu version because 12.04 is LTS - it
will be
supported five years. And all this five years Linphone version will be 3.3.2.

It is well that at least I have Linphone version 3.5 from PPA.
But absence of Linphone updates for five years makes me sad.

Ok, let's suppose that I will can build from sources version 3.6.
I'm not sure about that, but this is possible - I have experience in packages
building.

But what about others? How many people will can build it? One of ten? One of
hundred?
Lack of binary builds greatly reduces the number of users.
To make software popular - developer must make software available for users,
but not only for other developers.
