Thank you for your prompt response.  I can not find out were the log files are 
and have not read where they are located yet.  I should know where the log 
files are, but haven't read that part yet and a scan where I think it should be 
in  C:\Document and Settings\username\*   only turned up:

      linphonerc and
      some wav files from audio recording of voice.

Where are the log/debug files located on a Windows XP system?

In the meantime I am going to try to build linphone on my system here to see if 
building it on this platform will produce a more robust instance for this 
specific system.  I've never used MinGW before but will give it a go.
