If you are building for Debian, you could just leave this codec out - ( while 
we dream of VP9).

Let me know when you get this working - I would love to have a copy of the 
tarball.

The version in wheezy has audio problems - cuts off beginnings of words.

It looks like they are close to having 3.6.1 in testing - blocked by a couple 
of packages:

If this could find it's way into backports it would help a lot of people out.
