Hi,

I updated Linphone for Linux (Ubuntu derivative) to the latest version
from the PPA: Linphone 3.8.1-8-ga900f64.

There is a problem with my UVC Webcams on all systems. Video calling
is unstable. In most cases it works normally the first time Linphone
is started. But at the next calls I see only the black screen. Windows
version works good, if I call to a Windows buddy, Windows version
works fine (shows me in such a case), but on my side of the wire I see
only the black screen. In these cases self-view window is also absent
(all black, I do not see myself).

The problem is confirmed on Linux Mint 17.1 and 13 (both Xfce
desktops), different Webcam models, built-in (Laptop) and desktopsboth
32 bit and x86_64 kernels (3.13.0). That is, it's unlikely to be
caused by unique combination of hardware.

After some playing with the new version I was able to find a little
remedy. Video starts working if during the call I (or the other side,
this doesn't matter) presses the PAUSE button, and then again to
resume the call. then, video seems to start working.

Network parameters (e.g. NAT, STUN, AVPF, codecs, etc.) did not in my
experience affect the problem.

This bug is annoying :(

Sergey
