Hi Stefano and François, that for example explains why I don’t encounter the same problem on Windows 7 64bit. I’m using an M-Audio FW410, an external firewire soundcard with which I have no choice but to use WINSD - because WASAPI simply doesn’t work with it. Stefano, I’ve been using Linphone for a month with WINSND and I haven’t encountered any trouble so far. So there should be no disadvantages. Since we are talking about audio and audio quality in linphone, I’m going to open a new thread about stereo audio in linphone. Best regards to all Michele Perrone Da: address@hidden [mailto:linphaddress@hidden Per conto di Carriero Stefano TA.MSE_T_H14.1401 Hi François, Thank you very much, the workaround works great! Is there any disadvantage in using WINSND instead of WASAPI? Best regards Stefano On Behalf Of François Grisez Hi Stefano, I confirm that we reproduce that issue on our side. The problem seems coming from our support of WASAPI which is the Windows sound API that Linphone used by default. An issue has been opened on our private bug tracker. As a workaround, you can use WINSND instead of WASAPI by changing the default capture sound card in settings. You may also change the default playback and ring sound cards to be consistent. The problem is not related to the mentioned software “TwinCAT 3”. I just tested by direct connection between a Windows computer and a Mac computer, without having that software installed. è Still the same issue… after approximately 1 minute the quality of the conversation gets worse and worse. Btw. I didn’t mention yet that it’s not only appearing when transmitting music, but also when having normal conversations. So far, I have only tested direct connections (without SIP server involved). Any hint is appreciated. |
