Hi,

For a hackhaton, we decided to work on accessibility of some apps. We
talked about it with FSF, who wishes a priority for GTK apps and GNU
apps. So this hackhaton did this.

We tried to understand how Audacity GNU/Linux is accessible for blind
people. Of course, it'd be difficult to deal with all issues.

We wrote a 1st analysis here:
https://lite6.framapad.org/p/audacity-access

Mainly we experience labelling issues, or lack of alternatives for
keyboard. Would seem to be easy to debug for some problems. I
experienced bugs as a blind user.

Please te;l us if interested, if some can be fixed, and if a new release
will fix them.

We haven't fully dealt with the graphical a11y of items such as waves,
track, graphics in effects dialog, etc, as it's very complicated and
needs dialog. We studied dialog widgets, tab trap, etc. On the main
window, just keyboard movement.

Anyway I'm thinking of how to make track accessible. At least to label
the tracks with a number, and to know the time (the position in the
track). We'd need to study how such object is design, etc. Moreover, if
I move focus on a track, I don't know when it's in or outside. Could be
fixed I guess.

Thanks very much and best regards,

Regards,
