Just curious, as I have been working with receiving SIP calls to a DID (direct
inward dialing) number, using several different providers, apps, and phones,
with three different operating systems.
How many people on this list have a SIP setup on a mobile phone that works so
well that the individual uses it as a primary phone (a wi-fi hotspot would be
necessary) with a DID (SIP) phone number for incoming calls, instead of a phone
activated on AT&T, Verizon, whatever?
Or is it just something fun for experimentation?
FWIW, I have worked with legacy BlackBerry models 9670, 9790, and 9900 (OS6 and
OS7), using both VMobile and MobileVoip; BlackBerry 10 models Classic and
Passport, using Taki and Sip-fm; and BlackBerry KEYOne (an Android phone) using
native Android SIP support. Providers are VoipBuster, DirectDDINumbers, and
Callcentric. I have a Verizon Jetpack mobile hotspot, but using one of the
Berrys as a hotspot on AT&T works better. (Yes--I am a diehard keyboard
user--typing on glass drives me crazy!)
