Dear Peio,

I am on Windows 10, using the current installation file provided for Windows on https://linphone.org/technical-corner/linphone
This installation is named Linphone-4.2.5.-win32.exe, however linphonec.exe -v reports the version to be 4.4.19
I reinstalled it several times without success (see below).

I already tried starting from command prompt several times these days, both for linphone.exe, linphonec.exe, linphoned.exe.
(BTW: Took me a while to find that it needs to be started from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Linphone" instead of "C:\Program Files (x86)\Linphone\bin")
Anyway, I never get any GUI window to appear, as I used to in the past.

Please find attached the most recent logfiles created e.g. via
C:\Program Files (x86)\Linphone>bin\linphoned.exe -d 5 -l linlog5.txt
since
C:\Program Files (x86)\Linphone>bin\linphone.exe -d 5 -l linlogX.txt
does not produce any output log (nor anything else)

Previous linlog4.txt tells it cannot write to AppData Roaming, resolved by manually creating that directory.
However, linlog5.txt still does not result in any GUI window to appear etc...

Only command to produce any useful result is
C:\Program Files (x86)\Linphone>bin\linphonec.exe -d 5 -l linlog6.txt -V
which will let me see my webcam video flawlessly along with the linphonec command line prompt.
Well, but I want to use the windows linphone GUI...

Thanks a lot for any hints...

Best regards,
Martin

Hello Martin.

(To Linphone community, I have been very busy for several weeks, so I'm coming step after step into the 82 unread emails of the mailing lists. Thanks for your interrest in Linphone. I could take some time to answer, but I will try to read everything)

I don't remember if I answered your question or not since then.

Assuming that you have the latest Linphone version installed, can you please start Linphone from a command prompt, like you suggested, with the "-V" option ?

This should display some debug logs which could eventually help you.

Hi,
Thank you for the suggestions, but I think I have to make clear that even after a fresh install NO window will open at all when I start linphone manually the first time (and all following times).
So I don't have an option to do any settings or access the menu. Simply nothing.
I will try tomorrow to start it from an admin command prompt manually after navigating to that folder, but I am afraid this won't change anything.
Are there any command line parameters that might help?
Thank you!

P.S. using Jitsi App currently (not the video conferencing)

Hallo,

I dont't use Wndows, but I assume that the Windows and the Linux version
are similar.
You produce a log file if you call "Einstellunge" from the Menu
accessible on the top left edge.
On the new window choose the "Erweitert" tab. You will be able to set
"Protokolle aktiviert".

You will probably to terminate Linphone in order to be able to open the
log file.

Regards,

Jean-Jacques

PS: which alternative Soft phone do you have used?
