Hey, that's smart!
If you have primarily ASCII text with only occasional latin-* words,
you might hack your way through with
def "\200" right x { x }
def "\201" right x { x }
def "\202" right x { x }
# ...
The drawback is that you loose hyphenation, but for occasional word or
two that shouldn't be a problem.
