Music Notation

I'm in the process of writing a package for notating music in Lout.
Yes, I know there exists GNU Lilypond, and I've used that, but it's
LaTeX based, and I want to wipe the stain of TeX from my system.

Anyways, I was wondering if there is a font that has the various notes
and such in it, so that I don't have to make my own.  Or, since
Lilypond is GPL, is there any way to get the TeX fonts to be usable
from Lout?
