I have a little piece of new code. Basically, 

. a #define PBUF_MAX_SIZE
. a open("/dev/tun") if linux24 defined (instead of opening /dev/tap0)
. a ioctl to turn the tun into tap

I'm sending you the code when I arrive at the laboratory.
