Sorry, but the lack of my answers is because I'm not sure what to do. We're using the httpd for exactly what you described and don't have any problems. Your problems might come from the way you use the server (e.g. violating lwIP's threading requirements) or from differences in integrating your "file system" or application with the httpd.
