Hi again,
Just a small update. Here at the Victoria Freenet, we use SunOS
Unix operating system, which I am told is quite old. I have identified
the display problem coming thru Lynx, as an apparent inability of lynx
or the unix version we are using, to save a piece of environment data: Namely,
the info that my terminal (a 286 running COMIT for DOS) does not expand
tabs. So they rsult is that I can use lynx easily for web pages etc., but
that before doing so I must tell the O.S. that my terminal is not
expanding tabs" every time I sign on. My conclusion is that although our
menu system freenet.victoria.bc.ca has an entry for saving such data,
this piece of info is NOT saved. That's it! Thanks for tour time. I
understand that soon we will be going to Unix system V, where I hope this
problem is solved. Ciao! Anthony.........
