I hope the original poster is aware of Tom Zerucha's proxy
implementation of prefilters.
Filters applied by a proxy are one interesting approach to
munging all kinds of problem pages for which a canonical
built-in solution escapes us at this time.
Tag soup
Tables
speech-friendly reformatting
More dynamic proxy selection would be nice for these extra-effort
applications. The access.adobe.com proxy server is nice when you
want to crack a PDF document, but it does slow you down your
routine traffic if you leave it designated in lynx.cfg. I would
like a chance to divert my service via a given proxy on a
transient, revert-after-transaction basis.
Filter selection requires some sort of capability negotiation via
accept headers, port diversity at the server site, or something.
