OK, a bit more functional now...
Still, reverse on the status line (which I specified in the lss file)
seems to be broken (TERM=linux). The reason isn't immediately
apparent from looking at statusline() or curses_w_style(), or gdb.
Instead of turning off reverse at the end of the status line, it's
turning on blinking, and printing what look like the ends of ANSI
control sequences.
