Just a general comment not directed to anyone in particular, and perhaps
just reiterating the intent of the above quote, but it's hard for me to
imagine any new "feature" that should "be available by default," at least
without rigorous scrutiny.  Two "features" of Lynx are of utmost importance:
    1) keeping the image size (or memory usage) to the bare minimum, and
    2) supporting Lynx's popular use as a captive pseudo-shell.
