LYNX-DEV 2-7/2-8 changes of scenery

i used 2-8 for my daily read of the newspapers today
& discovered  2  changes from 2-7 (SIC), one good, the other less good.

Financial Times --  www.ft.com/hippocampus/contents.htm  -- is better:
there is a long series of strange comments in the source,
which 2-7 repeated awkwardly, but 2-8 suppresses
(you have to register (free) to access it);
Reuters news --  dailynews.yahoo.com/  -- eg Business -- is worse:
there is a table of links whose elements are arranged on  2  lines by 2-7,
but arranged vertically on separate lines by 2-8.

any comments on why these things have changed & their utility/otherwise?
