I think you can see on this thread that a number of us dissagree with you
that the spec is "broken" and believe that the current Lynx behavior is
"correct" in this matter, though we have no objection to alternate
renderings in the code, so long as they are optional, configurable, and
not the default.

If you still want to change the spec, I think the best advice was already
offered: join the W3C working group and contribute to the spec. If your
change is accepted for HTML 5 or ... Lynx will need to accomodate it at
that time.

Now, would it be OK to move on to other topics?
