lynx-dev Lynx using a LOT of file descriptors

I was fooling around with strace in the meantime, and attached strace to the
pid that lynx is running as.
Pardon me if I am incorrect here, but isn't Lynx using a lot of file
descriptors right here?

This was while trying to access www.freshmeat.net (apparantly they're on a
high load or having trouble, because it sat there for quite a while doing
nothing)
