FWIW-
I, as a user, would prefer to see screen updates in as few as two line
increments. I have a generally good connection with a good ISP. When
things are 'slow' it is often due to a slow server at the other end. I
frequently view pages ten or more screens long but have no interest
beyond the first two or three screens. Sometimes I loose interest after
the first few lines (short attention span).
If I understand the issue correctly, with screen updates occuring before
the page has fully loaded, I could see the first screen or two,
and then 'z'ap the connection and go on to something else.
Thanks for a superb job.
