I seem to have a problem, not related.  I do

    cd lynx2-8-2
    mkdir Solaris
    ../configure

    address@hidden gmake
        [ ... ]
    cd po && gmake CC="gcc"
    gmake[1]: Entering directory 
`/pub/unsup/src/lynx/lynx2.8.2dev.3/lynx2-8-2/Solaris/po'
    gmake[1]: *** No rule to make target `../../LYMessages.c'.  Stop.
    gmake[1]: Leaving directory 
`/pub/unsup/src/lynx/lynx2.8.2dev.3/lynx2-8-2/Solaris/po'
    gmake: *** [all] Error 2
    address@hidden

The source file is actually at 
`/pub/unsup/src/lynx/lynx2.8.2dev.3/lynx2-8-2/Solaris/LYMessages.c',
or `../LYMessages.c', one level deeper than makefile expects it.
