It's *not* the standard.
The standard says: Byte, 1000 Byte = 1 kB (Kilobyte).
There is *NOTHING* which defines 1024 Byte = 1 KB,
nor how that's pronounced. Yet.
With KiB, MiB etc. you *do* have a standard, with
definition (and, guess what, it also defines KB as Kibibyte,
yet deprecates it).
