  changes (report by Larry Hart) -TD
* remove duplicate copy of CF_TRY_PKG_CONFIG added to aclocal.m4 in 2.8.8dev.4,
  which caused autoconf-2.13 to emit weird error messages about undefined
  symbols (report by TG) -TD
