What are the requirements beside than it should interpret the scripts?

Lynx would have to implement the de facto document and browser object models from Netscape, together with the subsequent, more formally standardised ones.

It would need to construct a formal parse tree and render from that, even when it changes, rather than using more ad hoc rendering strategies, as the document is read. That is basically a complete rewrite of the rendering logic, i.e. the core of Lynx.

Emails are not formal business letters, whatever businesses may want.
RFC1855 says there should be an address here, but, in a world of spam,
that is no longer good advice, as archive address hiding may not work.
