Remember, though, that news sites are not there to provide news. They are there to make money.It is quite a contrast from the founding of most newspapers. For most of the founders making money was a necessary evil. Daniel Defoe and Jonathan Swift had outlooks which they wanted made public. Now Hearst wanted to make money, but he had an ax to grind, too. Some 20th-century owners wanted to correct and adjust public opinion. For the online sites, money is all.
