No, that fails! - because the helper-apps don't have rules in the 
Makefile for static.
You can do a
make mldonkey.static
make mldonkey_gui.static
make mldonkey_gui2.static
make open_mldoneky.static

But make static will fail (no rule for use_tags and the external chatapp 
mlchat!)
