You can easily do something like that yourself.
I have mldonkey running on my firewall* computer.
And start previews on my local working computer via:
#!/bin/sh
echo Local File is "$1"
echo Pseudo file name is "$2"
MOVIE_PLAYER=/usr/bin/mldonkey_previewer
case "$2" in
*.Avi | *.avi | *.mpg | *.rm | *.ogm | *.mpeg | *.divx | *.AVI | *.MPG | *.
MPEG | *.DIVX | *.bin | *.dat)
ssh -l myuserid mylocalcomputer $MOVIE_PLAYER /usr/local/Filme/$1 >
/dev/null &;;
*) echo No player for this file;;
esac
/usr/local/Filme is nfs mounted from my firewall* computer. So this computer
can start previews on a remote machine.
*Of course, with mldonkey running on it, it is not a real firewall anymore.
