Hi Mourad,

It is always a good starting point to read the doc :)
I am glad to see you motivated.

Dodji.

ps: you should set your mail client options correctly
so that the mails are sent in plain text. Not in html.

0.0.1.7rc4 is out.

<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Hi all,
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Here a 0.0.1.7rc4 release of mlview is
available at
<DIV></DIV>&gt;http://freesoftware.fsf.org/download/mlview/
.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;It is an early snapshot of the current
dev branch.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Read the following release notes before
download cause
<DIV></DIV>&gt;they are some tricks.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Dodji .
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt; MlView 0.0.1.7rc4 release notes.
<DIV></DIV>&gt; ==================================
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt; 03-19-2002
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;This a hot snapshot of the mlview
development
<DIV></DIV>&gt;r-0-0-1-7 branch (the current devel
branch).
<DIV></DIV>&gt;It has been added the following
features over the the
<DIV></DIV>&gt;0.0.1.5 release:
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt; +Element/attribute names completion
based on the
<DIV></DIV>&gt;validity constraints expressed by the
DTD.
<DIV></DIV>&gt; +support of xml catalogs to fetch the
DTD locally.
<DIV></DIV>&gt; +For the time being, the mlview
distrib contains the
<DIV></DIV>&gt;following DTDs:
<DIV></DIV>&gt; -xhtml strict 1.0
<DIV></DIV>&gt; -xhtml transitional 1.0
<DIV></DIV>&gt; -docbook-xml v 4.2b1
<DIV></DIV>&gt; So, when one of these DTDs is
referenced in an xml
<DIV></DIV>&gt;document, mlview fetches it locally
(finds it) and
<DIV></DIV>&gt;loads it.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt; +a lot of bug-fixes etc ...
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Note that This version of mlview needs
a patched
<DIV></DIV>&gt;version of libxml2.4.16 .
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;That patched libxml2.4.16 is located at
the mlview
<DIV></DIV>&gt;project download area
<DIV></DIV>&gt;(http://savannah.gnu.org/projects/mlview).

<DIV></DIV>&gt;It is named libxml2.4.16.patched.tar.gz
.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;To compile it, first uninstall any
version of libxml2
<DIV></DIV>&gt;you may have installed on your machine.

<DIV></DIV>&gt;Then untar it, cd into the directory
<DIV></DIV>&gt;libxml2.4.16.patched, type 'configure',
then 'make',
<DIV></DIV>&gt;then
<DIV></DIV>&gt;su root and type 'make install'.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;The problem fixed by this patch is
fixed in the cvs
<DIV></DIV>&gt;tree of gnome but is not released yet.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;If you are a purist, you can get the
gnome cvs version
<DIV></DIV>&gt;instead of the dirty patch i proposed
in the paragraph
<DIV></DIV>&gt;above.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;To get the gnome cvs version of
libxml2, type
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;'export
<DIV></DIV>&gt;CVSROOT=:pserver:address@hidden:/cvs/gnome'

<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;then, type
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;'cvs login'
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;(There is no password to type. Just
type return)
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;then, type
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;cvs -z3 co gnome-xml
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Once you get all the files, you have to
compile them.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Cd into the newly created directory
gnome-xml.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Type './autogen.sh'
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Type 'make'
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Then, su root and type
<DIV></DIV>&gt;'make install'.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Then, you can install the mlview rpm or
compile it
<DIV></DIV>&gt;(recommanded)
<DIV></DIV>&gt;and install it.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;If you face any pb during the
installation, (remember,
<DIV></DIV>&gt;this is a development snapshot)
<DIV></DIV>&gt;send me a mail.
