I have tested a compile and a very simple run on the sourceforge
compile-farm and got it to compile and run on Solaris and FreeBSD.
It's great if you can test it also.

Seems that MacOs X is missing some parts of the pthread library,
specificially pthread_sigmask(). It's no big deal now, as you said we
can look into Mac Os X support later in 4.0.
