ChangeLog: 

* unit_tests.cc: Make as much as possible static.  Kill teebuf.
Make all progress messages consistent with tester.cc/testlib.lua.
Add more detailed logging for checkpoints and uncaught exceptions.
* unit_tests.hh: Don't include <string>.
(unit_test::do_checkpoint): Make argument a char *.
* current_exception.hh: New file, split out of...
* ui.cc: ... here.
* charset.cc: UNIT_TEST_CHECKPOINT argument must be a C string.
