ChangeLog: 

 * more hexe encode and decode calls, where appropriate
 * removed get_hex_slot() and set_hex_slot() methods from merkle_node,
   these functions are not used anywhere.
 * Added parentesis to some hexenc<id> variables, to call operator() of
   the decorator, so it doesn't hexify hex data.
