Not quite there, but this patch should later solve the problem that
unknown nodes are removed from the tree (since mtn returns "unknown path"
if one restricts to them) - and we need to keep at least the roots of
any unknown subtree to allow the user to add it to version control.
The problem now is that the unknown root item is always kept, even if it
was completly removed on the filesystem and now something very weird 
happens in my insertion code when I try to "fix" this problem...
