ChangeLog: 

new string trimming functions

* packet.cc (consume_file_data, consume_file_delta, consume_revision_data,
  consume_revision_cert, consume_public_key, consume_key_pair,
  consume_old_private_key): rename trim_ws to trim

* simplestring_xform.{cc,hh} (trim_left, trim_right): new functions to trim one
  side of a string;
  (trim_ws): rename to ...
  (trim): ... this and add a chars argument to specify characters to be trimmed;
  add unit tests for new trimming functions
