Folks,
I'm seeing something very weird with the current fetch.
When I autoreconf --install and then ./configure
CXXFLAGS="-Wno-long-double -I/Tools/Libraries/boost_1_31_0"
LDFLAGS="-L/Tools/Libraries/boost_1_31_0/libs -liconv -lintl" I crap
out all over the place: configure can't determine that I'm using g++,
can't find iconv, some system headers can't be built with, etc.
Investigation strongly suggests that what's really crapping out is the
configure script's attempt to determine what the object-file extension
that's produced by my C/C++ compiler is. As a consequence, it keeps
looking for FOO when it should be looking for FOO.o. This wreaks all
manner of havoc.
I have no idea why this is showing up now, but it is.
As always, Mac OS X 10.3.3, GCC 3.3. I even updated my
autoconf/automake/libtool to the latest and greatest. Makes no
difference.
Best regards,
Paul
