This is an interesting problem, but:* DisTract may be used to track any tasks, not just those which are fixed by checking in source code * Other bug tracking systems don't solve this problem either - at least not in a way that's integrated specifically with Monotone.
I think the solutions you propose are interesting and worth thinking about, but I would want to see DisTract achieve something approximating feature parity with other bug tracking systems before I'd attack this problem.
