You haven't read until the end:
This feature was already added in monotone 0.37, but was
forgotten to be mentioned in NEWS back then.
I've added this section in 0.41 so people get a chance to know about
this feature at all. Although, thanks for digging this out. His version
(0.31) is too old anyways.
