Hello,
I've just had a look through the manual page of Nano 4.2 because I had
forgotten which option switches on soft-wrapping of long lines.
Well, it's `-$', which is really not a good choice. The manual page even
explains why. It also breaks POSIX-compatibility.
So, I went to look for an alternative and found that, apparently, `-$'
could just be replaced by `-S' because `-S' is an “obsolete and ignored
option” now that “smooth scrolling has become the default”.
I therefore suggest to drop `-$' and instead use `-S' for activating
soft-wrapping.
Best
Michael
