[Nel] nel & libxml2 on linux

Ok, thank's for the help with STLport and the 2 lib files required.  I made 
a link to them and configure is happy with it.  Next up...libxml.  I get 
this now:
checking for xml2-config... /usr/bin/xml2-config
checking for libxml - version >= 2.0.0... no
*** Could not run libxml test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the
*** exact error that occured. This usually means LIBXML was incorrectly 
installed
*** or that you have moved LIBXML since it was installed. In the latter

*** may want to edit the xml2-config script: /usr/bin/xml2-config
configure: error: libxml2 must be installed.

I've got libxml2-2.4.26-3 installed along with libxml2-devel-2.4.26-3.  The 
files for libxml2 are:
/usr/bin/xmlcatalog
/usr/bin/xmllint
/usr/lib/libxml2.so.2
/usr/lib/libxml2.so.2.4.26
/usr/share/doc/libxml2-2.4.26
/usr/share/doc/libxml2-2.4.26/AUTHORS

...and xml2-devel are attached.  I've also attached config.log if that 
might help.
