Well , I've manage to compile it under solaris 8 (sparc). 
I had to edit config.h after configuration and comment out 

//#define INCLUDE_MY_SYS 1

and 

PTHREAD_MUTEX_INIT....

That doesn't mean it works.... I'm still trying . Possible
sql rights troubles? who knows??

For the records, I've found a workaround for this bug.
nss-mysql (atm the CVS version) *should* now compile under
most Solaris versions.
