I have tested this on 3.23.33 and 3.23.4 something.  3.23.33 is my 
current active db.  This is a RedHat 7.0 with mysql 3.23.33 rpms

rpms from mysql.com (Not the crappy one RH includes on there Cd)

Unless I did something wrong I got this on make from the cvs download.  
Chances are I did something wrong on the download.  I know just enough 
to be very dangerous.
