Hmmm good question :) I've just realized this point is not clear. The
response is yes but to a certain limit.
If you use log_users_sync mode, this will create a pool of threads
dedicated to decision making. The maximum number of threads is equal to
the number of threads for logging set by nuauth_number_loggers.
There is then two cases:
* OPEN packets are logged in decision making threads (which do
also logging)
* Other packets are logged by logger pools.
The result is that you can have at 2 * nuauth_number_loggers connections
to the database server.

It could be too much for your database. If I remember well I've set the
number to 5 to avoid stressing the database too much. But it can depends
on your setup.
