[Octal-dev] C++ wrapper, summer thoughts, high gear now

Well, it's summer, and now I've got nothing but time to work on OCTAL
and get the prototype finished and usable. Moving into high gear now
:-).

This weekend I'm working on the C++ binding for the OCTAL API (call it
OX++?) , which will simplify development for machine writers by letting
them write plugins in C++. One or two more changes to the API itself are
coming; probably adding one event handler for "number of tracks changed"
which wasn't handled too well in the current release.

The current codebase has the beginnings of the "engine", storing the
connections between machines and managing their execution; this will be
coming along too.

--OFFTOPIC--
For those of you near New York City, I will be playing live at a show on
June 10th 2000. It's part of Toshoklabs' Records party celebrating the
release of "State Of The Art Heirloom", an electronic music compilation
(featuring music by myself and four other artists.) I think the album
info and show info will be up at www.toshoklabs.com (warning, requires
Flash.)
