just thinking aloud... 

i guess its good that the synthesis network graph really stays that, just the 
machines participating in creating and processing sound - in metaphor, the
studio
floorplan. 

maybe we can also have other graphs - a global event timeline, pitch / note
/ someparam, perceived loudness, 
you name it, which would reflect the composition and structure of the song,
regardless of the
gear its using.

on another topic (the one i erased from the subject), can an automation be
made which would tweak the 
knob according to a user-specified arithmetic expression e(t)?
